Seven army and five air force personnel along with seven civilians were injured in a fire following the explosion on the passenger bus which operated from northern Jaffna peninsula to central town of Diyathalawa, where one of the main military training centers is located.

Mararaja,

According to police spokesman it has been established that it was a hand grenade that was in possession of one of the soldiers travelling in the bus.

In the past also soldiers were caught with explosive when they were traveling back to their home towns. Most of the time, they were used this explosive to kill their wife or relatives on family dispute. In some cases they were sold to underworld gangs.
