First topic message reminder :

1. Garbage issue- Solved no comments by media Mafia
2. CPC strike- Some thought it was the end of the Govt until the gazette issued making the service essential.
3. Reducing the prices of stents, Lenses. Medicines- Everyone benefited including the opposition. Initially people thought it could not be done.
4. Justice minister was removed- Some are still waiting until the No confidence motion comes. Some were able to sell their papers with stories.
5. Hambanthota deal done- After allowing some people to shout months and months.
6. 20th Amendment submitted today.
7. Very soon we will see the pricing formula of petrol/Diesel
8. Cases of previous regime will start soon. Ravi's was a blessing in disguise.
9. Some are manipulating CSE by inducing people to sell. Think some are buying at very cheap prices. Today People bought 800 Mln worth of shares at very low prices. Foreigners bought 25% of that.
10. Very soon we should be able to see the Saitem issue will get solved.
List will go on.

There are plenty to come soon.

Ranil is the most unfortunate leader ever to lead UNP, the party which governed Sri Lanka soon after independence in 1948.

As the PM he lead the Parlimentary election of 1994 under President DB Wijetunge and UNP lost to PA. When Gamini Dissanayake came back to UNP, Ranil lost the Opposition Leader post through a secret ballot at UNP Parlimentary group meeting. Gamini Dissanayake went on to become UNPs undisputed leader & became UNP Presidential candidate vs Chandrika. When GD got killed Ranil avoided coming forward as the replacement but allowed wife Srima Dissanayake to be nominated instead.

With the entire top leadership of UNP (Athulathmudali, Premadasa, Gamini) wiped out within 1 1/2 years, UNP leadership was thrust upon Ranil in 1994. Since then UNP lost each and every election under his leadership except 2001 Parlimentary election helped by PA crossovers.

He personally lost 2 presidential elections in 1999 & 2005. He avoided coming forward as UNPs presidential candidate at 2 consecutive presidential elections in 2009 & 2015 as it was clear that UNP candidate will not win

After Sirisena, the non UNP common candidate won 2015 presidential election, even with Mahinda's popularity at the lowest point, UNP government in power, Ranil failed to lead UNP to victory with a simple majority of 113 seats in 2015 General Elections. Therefore UNP could not form their own stable government and had to ask for support from Sirisena to form a coalition government, leading to the current highly unstable 'Yahapalana' government.

Under Ranil's leadership for 26 years, from 1994 to 2020 there is no UNP President in Sri Lanka. Will UNP at least in 2020 field their leader, who is Ranil, as their presidential nominee? Can UNP gamble with Ranil in 2020? If he looses again, no UNP President for 30 years in Sri Lanka. But most probably he will continue to be UNP leader at least till 2025 even if he looses 2020 election

There are honest people among Baiyo and Toiyo  All should get together  with  Srisena to prevent corruption and develop the Country

Otherwise unknown person with support of Anti  Corruption
movement will come No one can prevent corruption completely

Sri lanka problem after 1977 has been no serious effort to prevent corruption

Ranil's IT Chief who highlighted Rs. 3 Billion corruption sacked by President Sirisena

ECONOMYNEXT - Sri Lanka's information technology chief, Muhunthan Canagey said he was forced to resign Monday following a public criticism of spectrum award said to have been made to a business group which operates a radio and TV network.

Canagey alleged that the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka which is directly under President Maithripala Sirisena had given a block of 700MegaHertz spectrum to Colombo-based Maharaja group, causing a loss of over three billion to the state.

"Till today's MTV (Maharaja TV) has failed to tell the public how they got the spectrum and causing a loss to the state of Rs. 3 billion," Canagey said in a tweet at the end of last month.

The network has also been targeting Canagay in its news broadcasts. In Sri Lanka mobile telecom spectrum is auctioned but television licences and spectrum has been given from time to time to various parties who have started TV stations.

There is also an international move to release parts of current TV spectrum and use it for the more lucrative mobile telephony and data. In Sri Lanka the entry of digital TV was supposed to release more spectrum for mobile communications.

Canagay claimed that the alleged award of TV spectrum affected the government's digitisation efforts which are led by Canagey's Information and Communication Technology Agency of Sri Lanka which is directly under Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.

"I have been asked to resign by His Excellency the President Maithripala Sirisena...," he said in a letter outlining reasons for his sudden departure.

"I will never be part of aiding and abetting any fraud or corruption."

The Presidential Secretariat has denied any wrong doing.

Perhaps rulers may consume a short time period to convert half baked rotten policies/actions into fully baked sound ones.

Perhaps rulers may need a short time to convert half baked rotten policies/actions into fully pledged since they seek a psychological mandate.
