Valupick, I have observing your posts on tea sector and agri-buisness some times ago, is to there good counters to be looked Very Happy

Do not ignore single sector or stock in the market. There can be strong turnaround in any industry suddenly. Do not chase any stocks including tea stocks. We cannot make capital gain by overnight from plantation companies. We have to wait until we see silver lining. However we can see some momentum rally in this group. Every dark cloud has a silver lining. Strong dollar is good for tea export companies. Try to pick few stocks and study their base building pattern and some improvement in their liquidity etc. Initially both WATA and SUN didn’t have much liquidity. They went up due to liquidity(big quantity) later.
 
It is better to follow business that you can understand very well.  I can understand tea business and so I like to keep some tea stocks in my portfolio. I particularly like tea companies more exposure to the USA, Europe, Japan and China. In addition, there will be more demand for some variety of high quality tea coming from mountain and valleys in Sri-Lanka in the future. We have to have idea about some tea as well. More we understand some businesses more we will benefit.
 
If you have good undressing about any business then you have done your first home work on that particular business. After that you can pick best companies in the sector.
 
There are few options:
 
Target stocks which are building their bases for next uptrend
Identify some strong break out stocks and study their pullback
Invest for the mid and long term
Pick the best value stocks in the each group
Indentify the coming mega trends
Take trend as your friends
Study the bigger picture
Identify new winnings stocks.
Stay with strong stocks
Go behind out of favour stocks
Add few defensive stocks
 
This market has all types of stocks.

But I would like to add one thing; Strong dollar is very good for EXPO than tea export.
Yes strong dollar is very good for export. There will be winners in the Asian export market from Sri-Lanka to Japan in the coming months and years.
 
We also need to study export volume in rubber based, tyre based, table egg other poultry based  and other exports in the coming quarters and years etc to find out some winners in the market. In addition, there could be more export orders thanks to export competitiveness. In every situation, there will be winners.
 
In short companies in rubber, tea, food, and other exporters should benefit in the coming months and coming years. Future exports and earnings are more important than past earnings. When we analyse quarterly earnings in the coming quarters and annual reports we should be able to get some idea. Trend is our friend.
